Master PHAM XUAN TONG, the founder of the Qwan Ki Do method and the keeper of the Tam The method, is a living legend in the history of Vietnamese Martial Arts.
In a special way he knew how to combine his origin and cultural heritage. He had the privilege of learning Chinese styles from Master Chau Quan Ky, and from his uncle, Pham Tru, the traditional Vietnamese styles of Martial Arts.

In 1968 he arrived in France to complete his studies in anatomy, physiology, etc., thus making contact with European civilization, managing to adapt to the mentality here. Thus, by reuniting the three cultures (Chinese, Vietnamese and European) he created a method of international recognition, which brings together the experience and teachings he has gained over time, both as a student and as a Master.

This method of Martial Arts is called QWAN KI DO.

In addition to practicing martial arts, he studied traditional medicine, phytotherapy, acupressure, massage and calligraphy.

On May 18, 2018, he received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași (UAIC) as a sign of appreciation for his significant contribution to the field of sports but also to the patrimony of universal spirituality.

An encyclopedic personality, Pham Xuan Tong is considered a national treasure by the French state, and an invaluable value for Qwan-Ki-Do practitioners around the world.
