History of Qwan Ki Do Development in the country

From 1976 to 1980 the QUAN KY style within the VIET VO DAO was practiced in Ivory Coast under the technical direction of NGUYEN N’GOC MY – Black Belt 4th Dang at the moment.

In 1981 the Ivorian Union Of Qwan Ki Do was founded and until 1994 the technical direction was provided by Technical Director EBAH Michel Expedit.

From 1994 until present the leadership of the Ivorian Qwan Ki Do organization that in 2012 was founded as Federation Ivorienne de QWAN KI DO (FIQKIDO), is assured by technical director, Chan Su KOSSONOU Kouakou Kra Co-founder of the International QWAN KI DO federation, Black Belt 8 Dang.

Today the Ivorian Federation of Qwan Ki Do has nearly 45 clubs spread across the national territory of Côte d’Ivoire with more than a thousand practitioners.

Previous results in competitions

After the foundation of Ivorian Federation of Qwan Ki Do, the practitioners from Ivory Coast organized and took part to folowing events:

  • 2016 the African Nations Championship in Abidjan Côte d’Ivoire (CAN)
  • 2017 the African club championship in Libreville, Gabon
  • 2018 the 3rd African Nations Championship in Algiers, Algeria
  • February 2019 the 1st African Championship for Young Talents (from 8 to 17 years old)
